I know it is 2019. And if you are aware, you know that scientists are busy working on amortality, estheticians formulating the most effective anti-aging, and beauty gurus vlogging the best way to cover every single flaw on your face. If it is not enough, you can get a facelift. Hey, we almost arrive at the golden era of the youth! And thanks to social medias, now we crave beauty even more.
But what is beauty?
It depends. For each of us has his/her own point of view.
What I fancy the most is the beauty in imperfection. The way simple things fall naturally. Just like old age. Just like wrinkles. Like those on your mother's face which tell thousands stories about her life. The crow's feet around her eyes were the warmest look she gave to you and to everyone she loved. The frown lines between her eyebrows were the sadness she did not want you to worry about. The tear throughs under her eyes should remind us that, just like you and me, she was also tired of this depressing life but somehow survives.
Some people may not see it. The footprints of the ordinary lifes that give a pleasant emotion. Raw, unpolished, but somehow an art in its very first form.
I personally find that the photo above is the most beautiful photo of Audrey Hepburn which was taken in her last year on earth, at age 63. But yeah, some people may not see it.
