The statue was gilded with thin leaves of fine gold, two bright sapphires for eyes, and a large red ruby glowed on his sword-hilt. The statue was set on the high place where he could see ugliness, misery, and poverty he never saw when he was alive.
Several weeks ago, i read Oscar Wilde's short story for children entitled "The Happy Prince" from the book The Happy Prince and Other Tales.
