I'm not a bibliomania, but the pile keeps getting higher. Well, you couldn't just sit and reading books all weeks without earning some money and you shouldn't just earn lots of money without having time to read your favourite books. What a life, balance requires effort.

Mr. Cash seems to influence many people. Name them Dylan, Bono, Jake Bugg, and these men...
- Johnny Cash Out Among the Stars (With Brandon Flowers and Father John Misty) -
Our thoughts are connected in a certain way. What's on one's mind might be an ancient inheritance. Maybe that's how this universe works. And I like the moments when I figured out some of them. I mean the connections, how someone's mind were connected to another's, and another's to others'.
For instance, I like the moments when I knew that Matt and Alex used to pretend to be Oasis at school; that, besides he also agreed that Cobain's I Hate Myself And Want To Die was uncool, Noel's Don't Look Back in Anger had borrowed some words from Lennon's memoirs. And I was quite excited when I was reading the book, accidentally found out that Beatles' Inner Light was entirely quoted from Tao Te Ching. Or that Lizzy Grant's song was about a fictional girl created by Nabokov; that Father John Misty got wind of Dylan and Dylan, since his early age, had absorbed the works of Camus; that Bukowski also read Kant's; that a priest in front of me, he told us that he, read Dante's comedy; that an atheist friend of mind, as I had guest, read Nietzsche's; and that Hannibal Lecter read Meditations. Figuring out what influenced these people, those kind of things interest me. Influence. It is either interesting or sickening. And I tell you how sickening it is. It was somewhat disappointing to know how unoriginal an interesting one could be, when you finally found out what influences him and it turns out that he is so carried away by his influencer and ends up losing himself. Don't worry, the same thing may apply to us all, including me that I should loathe myself too. Influence. You may deny but you can hardly free yourself from it. Just don't get carried away. Follow the trace of the sphynx cat's paw Cloaked in leather of a mad cow Poisoned by an old forgotten saw Hovered over by the wind blow Scratched by a bald eagle's claw Drifted along the southern sea flow Grazed by a great white's jaw Burnt by the hope of the morrow Swallowed by personal law Chase a dream through the midnight's glow Overreach the trick of destiny flaw |
